# Overview

The maib **e-Commerce Checkout API** provides a simple and secure way for merchants to accept online payments through a hosted checkout page.\
It manages the entire checkout process — from creating a session to selecting a payment method, processing the transaction, and confirming or cancelling the payment.

The API ensures a consistent integration experience, supports multiple payment methods, and operates within maib’s secure infrastructure.\
It also offers endpoints for retrieving checkout details, verifying payment status, and managing ongoing sessions.
